Marni

Cult label Marni is always one of Milan Fashion Week’s most coveted tickets. Launched as a furrier in 1994 Consuelo Castiglioni’s label was an antidote to the staid, dated fur designs of the time. Castiglioni’s artfully disassembled furs were very popular and Marni quickly grew to provide customers with something to wear under their furs too.

Known for her eclectic ‘grandma magpie’ aesthetic, Castiglioni has never formally trained as a designer. Beating her own path through the fashion landscape, her signature fluidly shaped pieces, often produced in clashing prints and colours have garnered a very loyal following.
“I design what I like to wear myself. It’s how I started and how I continue to work. I do not have a muse, other than different elements that I like.”
