A true trailblazer, Hubert de Givenchy launched his eponymous fashion house in 1952. As the world’s youngest couturier, having cut his teeth at Dior and Schiaparelli, Givenchy went on to found one of the world’s most famous and enduring fashion labels. Initial success came from his introduction to Paris of simple separates but it was when Givenchy found his muse in Audrey Hepburn, that he shot to worldwide fame, designing that little black dress for ‘Breakfast at Tiffanys’.
The Givenchy label is now directed by the Italian Riccardo Tisci, whose increasingly covetable collections have brought the label back to prominence.
